This started as a field recording of Palestinian names being read; of those recently martyred during this genocide, as a way to remind myself of who and what is being brutally taken. I needed help releasing some heavy, pent up emotions and wanted to do whatever I could to honor the lives that have been stolen, to help spirits be recognized and pass on with consideration, respect, acknowledgment, love, dignity.

After attending more rallies and marches here in Portland, and having the chance to hear more Palestinian voices directly, this quickly grew into a more in depth exploration of audio documentation with accompanying compositions that pull from original songs @jason_ddb and I have written together and independently, along with some improvisational synth and sampling techniques.

This audio collage of sorts is intended to share in the spirit of liberation, to serve as a touchstone in order to feel into the humanity of what’s currently happening, to share as education for those that need a history lesson and to help us all stay connected to our most vulnerable people right now.
